Abstract：A reagent prepared from 2 volumes of 78-79% H2SO4 solution and 1 volume of 26-27% H2O2 solution is capable of giving with sesamm a green coloration finally turning yellow.The yellow color may be utilized for the quantitative determination of sesamin,and satisfactory results can be obtained.method has been employed to determine the sesamin content in oils of 16 varieties of Chinese sesarmn seeds,which ranges from 0.92% up to 1.80%.Oils containin hihg quantities of sesamin should have promising potential uses as asynergist in combination with pyrethrin oil sprays.
