Abstract：CdS intercalated layerd K2Ti4O9 was prepared by iron exchange with the aid of microwave radiation, and was characterized by XRD, BET, UV-vis spectra, and XPS. The photocatalytic activity was carried out under UV light and simulant sunlight. The results showed that the structure of catalyst either prepared under microwave radiation or used conventional way was similar, but the reaction time of the former was reduced effectively. The photocatalytic hydrogen production activity in 3 h of CdS intercalated layerd K2Ti4O9 prepared with the aid of microwave radiation under UV light and sunlight irradiation, was 161.6 and 2.1 mmol/gcat, respectively. The photocatalytic activity was 1.7 and 2.7 times of the catalyst prepared by conventional way.
