Adsorption Properties of Keggin-type Fe(III)-substituted Heteropolyanion by D301R Resin

The adsorption properties of the D301R resin towards Fe(III) substituted heteropolyanion PW11O39Fe(III)(H2O)4－ (PW11Fe) and impacts of pH and temperature on the adsorption were investigated in detail. The adsorption kinetic curves and adsorption isotherm curves were also determined at different temperature. It was found that the adsorption capacities of PW11Fe on the resin increased with pH increase in the aqueous solution from 2 to 8, and decreased with the increase of temperature. The adsorption kinetics follows the pseudo-second-order model controlled by a surface process. The rate constant k2 is 9.33×10－4 g•mg－1•min－1, which decreased with the increase of temperature. The adsorption isotherm curve is consistant with Freundlich isotherms and the adsorption enthalpy calculated is about 40 kJ•mol－1, indicating a physical adsorption process.
